Ministers

  • David Salisbury

    Minister

David came to work in Henderson as the pulpit minister in July of 2013. Before that, he worked for 18 years in Tennessee with congregations in Hohenwald, Nashville, and Eagleville. A native of Chattanooga, Tennesse, David has a B.A. in Bible from Lipscomb University (1996), a Master of Arts in Religion from Lipscomb (1999), and a Master of Divinity from Lipscomb (2001). He has been married to Heather since 1996, and they have three children: Abby, Darby, and Will.

    More about David:

I love studying God’s word and sharing it with others. I believe the Bible is a practical book that is full of God’s wisdom for how to live this life and prepare for the life to come. I love the church deeply, and I think it is the most wonderful work in the world to work with God’s people and share the gospel in our community.

I am a family man, and my wife and children are some of my best friends. We enjoy spending time together in ministry and just having fun as a family. When I’m not spending time with my family, I love a good football game (especially if my Tennessee Volunteers are playing!) and doing woodwork in my shop. I’m also a history buff, and I love telling people about our amazing town and what makes it special. Heather works for the Tourism Department and loves to read and work on craft projects.

We love our community and our church family! – David

  • Josh Terry

    Youth and Family Minister

Josh started working with the Henderson Church in February 2020 as the Youth Minister. His responsibilities include preparing and coordinating spiritually uplifting activities for the youth group. He has worked in youth ministry since 2015 in Kentucky and Arkansas. He holds a B.A. in Public Relations with a minor in Religious Studies from the University of Tennessee at Martin (2015). He also holds a B.A. in Ministry from Harding University (2018), where he met his wife and best friend Emilie. They have been married since 2018. Emilie also has a B.A. in Ministry from Harding University and works with Josh focusing on the 5th grade and under students. They love having the opportunity of working together and getting to share God’s word with others. Josh and Emilie love going on walks on the riverfront, eating good food, and hanging out with the youth group.

    More about Josh:

I grew up in Camden, TN. I was unchurched until I was a sophomore in High School when my soon-to-be Youth Minister invited me on a trip, and I have been attending ever since.

Thanks to the guidance of my Youth Minister, I found a deep love for the Word of God and was baptized almost 6 months later. While attending college, I found a love for ministry and decided to go into Youth Ministry.

Once I graduated and began working as a Youth Minister, I desired to have more Biblical knowledge and decided to go back to school and get another degree from Harding University. Where I met my wife, and we got married in 2018.

I love ministry and find it to be the most fulfilling work that could ever be done.
